WHEN LEGENDS MEET! STAN CHAMBERS AND STEVE EDWARDS SHARE A MOMENT IN THE SPOTLIGHT. CHAMBERS HAS AWARD NAMED FOR HIM – EDWARDS RECEIVES IT!

Stan ChambersHe’s been on TV in Los Angeles for over 59 years and now KTLA News Reporter Stan Chambers has an award named after him!

At APTRA’s 2006 Mark Twain Awards, APTRA President  Hal Eisner surprised Chambers  saying “The board of APTRA had voted to name it’s lifetime achievement award after Stan Chambers …” and call it The Stan Chambers Award for Extraordinary Achievement. The announcement triggered a standing ovation. Chambers sense of surprise was written all over his face!

The veteran Los Angeles newsman told Eisner after the renaming that he was truly surprised and appreciative.

Steve EdwardsChambers presented the newly renamed award to veteran television host Steve Edwards, who said he was pleased to be receiving an award named after the longtime KTLA broadcaster.

As Chambers and Eisner watched on from the set constructed just for this event, Edwards talked about his early days in radio and a few of the funny moments in the early part of his career.
